Who is Lola Young?
Lola Young is a South London singer-songwriter, born 4 January 2001.
Her cover of Philip Oakey & Giorgio Moroder's Together In Electric Dreams soundtracked the John Lewis Christmas ad in 2021. Nominated for the BRITs Rising Star award the same year, Lola also finished fourth in the BBC Sound Of 2022 poll.
In December 2024 Island Records-signed Lola scored her debut appearance on the Official Singles Chart courtesy of breakthrough hit Messy, on 24 January 2025 Messy toppled Gracie Abrams to give Lola Young her first-ever UK Number 1 single.
Through her captivating filmed content and no-nonsense output on life, Lola has won over legions of fans on both sides of the Atlantic, including the likes of Snoop Dogg, Tyler The Creator, Donald Glover, Ty Dolla $ign, Offset, Michael Stipe, SZA, Little Simz and Lily Allen.
