Jeff Goldblum and the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra are a jazz ensemble fronted by Hollywood actor and musician Jeff Goldblum.
While maybe best known for his film roles in Jurassic Park, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and Independence Day, Goldblum also holds a lifelong passion for jazz piano. The name Mildred Snitzer Orchestra originates from a family friend of Goldblum’s, he borrowed it purely for the charm and oddball flair, but behind the whimsical name is a serious commitment to the genre.
The group of seasoned jazz musicians have performed together since the early 2000s, originally in smaller venues around Los Angeles. The ensemble specialise in jazz standards, think Thelonious Monk, Herbie Hancock, and Nat King Cole, but with a fresh energy that feels both classic and contemporary, and just the right touch of Goldblum eccentricity.
Their debut album, The Capitol Studios Sessions, gave them their first UK Official Albums Chart appearance in November 2018, peaking at Number 26. Its 2019 follow-up I Shouldn't Be Telling You This broke the Top 20.
In May 2025, to mark the ensemble's first ever Top 10 album, Still Blooming (10), Official Charts presented Jeff Goldblum with an Official Top 10 Award. The record featured household names including Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and Scarlett Johansson, and also landed at Number 1 on the UK Official Jazz & Blues Chart.
