Who is Lily Allen?

Lily Allen's varied career has seen her arrive as the heralded darling of social media site MySpace with whip-smart lyrics and an infectious reggae-inspired sound, before switching tact for her electronic and inherently more socio-political second record It's Not Me, It's You and chasing what some may class as an outdated form of pop stardom on Sheezus. 2018's No Shame brought Lily back down to Earth, but its nomination for that year's Mercury Prize showed the years had dulled none of her talent; 3 Number 1 singles and 2 Number 1 albums speak for themselves.

On Monday 20th October, Lily Allen announced her fifth studio album West End Girl, to be released on October 24, via BMG. The record, Lily’s first for seven years, features 14 brand new songs, written and recorded over an intense 10 day period in Los Angeles starting in Dec 2024, and later finished in London and New York.
