Yeah well I still buy CDs meself n aint into all the streamin stuff.
Andr Krawutk
you are one of the few
Nobody buys cds nowadays only old people buy their music on cd of their favorite veteran bands like PET SHOP BOYS
whose last single or EP was #1 in the UK lol but never made the charts
I.B.
Gerry Cinnamon seems to be doing a lot better in Ireland and Scotland.
Gábor Boncz
Sales, Downloads, Vinyl and Physical figures are dominated by Foals, Dido and Sigrid and yet Streaming beats them all. Streaming is everything that music is not about; it is manipulative, it denies talent and it betrays consumer's purchasing power. Just saying.
Rob Parkinson
While I wouldnt go as far as stating streaming being manipulative and denting talent I am surprised that people stream albums in full that much that Dave has got to no.1. When you buy a physical copy or purchase a download then the whole album gets a credit but when it comes to streaming after a couple of listens then there is generally a few tracks that get skipped so an album stream doesn't get counted. Understandable that singles are dominated by streaming but an album is more of a whole package that normally is dominated by physical sales and downloads.
Gábor Boncz
Buying music and listening to music is not the same even though it actually gets credited, we might end up listening to something that is heavily subsidized by that particular medium through which we are listening to it. Now that the target audience's average age is about 16, a streaming platform does not have to put a lot of effort into tricking them to listen to what the platform gets tons of money for. However, this still would be part of the game if it wasn't for the miscommunication of this-and-this streaming artist beating the record of this-and-that from 30 years ago, because that is just simply not true. Being number one for X weeks due to physical sales should not be equal to being number one only because of streaming. Stating that a musical act in business for 20-30 years is not reaching the top of the charts just because of streaming is actually denying that the artist concerned is competitive and/or talented musicwise. If that is not a form of manipulation then I don't know what it is. No offens to Dave.

Streaming has destroyed charts. It's everything served for young ppl who doesn't know what a record store is😢
Andr Krawutk
yes it has changed the whole system
Andr Krawutk
yes but it is what the people wanted and it shows the real Popularity
do you remember the days in the late 90s and early 2000s when Acts like ERASURE and PET SHOP BOYS debuted high with their singles in the top 10 or top 20 but fell after 2 weeks of the top 100?
