Justin Bieber replaces himself at the top of the Official Singles Chart with Love Yourself
Justin Bieber’s incredible year continues as he scores his third Number 1 single on this week’s Official Singles Chart with Love Yourself.
The ballad climbs from 2 to 1 on this week’s tally, pushing his previous single Sorry down to second place. Both tracks also rack up huge streaming numbers this week, at 5.97 million for Love Yourself and 5.5 million for Sorry.

Replacing yourself at the top spot is a rarely-seen feat on the Official Singles Chart. The last act to do so was Elvis Presley in 2005, when reissues of Jailhouse Rock and One Night/I Got Stung hit Number 1 in succession (click here to see the chart from that week). The last living act to achieve the feat in UK chart history was The Beatles in December 1963, with She Loves You and I Want To Hold Your Hand (see the chart week here).
Meanwhile, Adele’s Hello holds at Number 3, Bieber’s What Do You Mean is at 4, and newcomer Grace zooms 39 places to make her Top 40 debut today with You Don’t Own Me.
New entries and high climbers
Coldplay leap eight places to Number 15 this week with Adventure Of A Lifetime, Sigma land their 5th Top 40 hit with their Rita Ora collaboration Coming Home (26), and production duo 99 Souls climb 10 spots to 33 with Girl Is Mine (Destiny’s Child & Brandy).
Finally, Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You begins is annual ascent up the chart, entering the Top 40 at 35, and Robin Schulz’s Sugar ft. Yates leaps 18 places to 36.

That is simply astounding that Justin has matched the record held by both the Beatles and Elvis by replacing himself at #1 on the singles chart in the U.K. Congratulations to Justin and UMG and his team for this impressive achievement.
