Dvbbs and Borgeous' Tsunami (Jump) tops the Official Singles Chart thanks to a little help from Tinie Tempah.

Dvbbs and Borgeous will be celebrating today after storming to the top of the UK’s Official Singles Chart with Tsunami (Jump) FT Tinie Tempah.

The Canadian duo (pronounded ‘Dubbs’) and Miami DJ and producer Borgeous released their instrumental track Tsunami last summer. It topped the charts in Belgium and The Netherlands, and also went Top 10 in several other European countries including Denmark, France, Sweden and Switzerland. However, it failed to make an impact on the British charts at the time.

The trio have since teamed up with London MC Tinie Tempah for a vocal mix, retitled Tsunami (Jump), which has gone in at Number 1 today.

“It’s amazing!” DVBBS told BBC Radio 1’s Official Chart show host Jameela Jamil. “It’s just been a huge rollercoaster for the last six months, and now to finally have a UK Number 1 with Tinie Tempah is a dream come true.

“We’ve always wanted to work with Tinie after listening to some of the songs he’s done with Swedish House Mafia and Calvin Harris; he adds such a special vocal over the top of dance records. We can’t wait to perform it with him live!”

While Tsunami (Jump) is both Dvbbs and Borgeous’ first chart topper on our shores, it has become Tinie Tempah‘s fourth. His debut single, Pass Out, and follow-up Written In The Stars, both reached Number 1 in 2010, and he did it again in 2012 guesting on Rita Ora’s R.I.P.

Route 94’s My Love FT Jess Glynne (Number 2) and Pharrell WilliamsHappy (Number 3) both fall one place today. Enrique Iglesias is new in at Number 4 with I’m A Freak FT Pitbull, and Clean Bandit’s Rather Be FT Jess Glynne is down two to Number 5.

New Entries and High Climbers

In addition to Tsunami (Jump) (Number 1) and I’m A Freak (4), there are five other new entries on this week’s Official Singles Chart, as well as two high climbers:  Flo Rida enters at Number 8 today with How I Feel - his reworking of Nina Samone’s Feeling Good.

Pixie Lott claims her seventh Official Singles Chart Top 10 hit with Nasty (9), while Kylie Minogue‘s Into The Blue debuts just a few places behind her at Number12. Into The Blue is the lead single from the Australian pop princess’s 12th studio album, Kiss Me Once, which is released in the UK tomorrow (Monday, March 17). This week’s new entries are completed by Christina Perri’s Human (14).

The Chainsmokers climb 25 places to Number 17 with Selfie, while One Direction soar a massive 34 places to make their Top 40 debut with title track of their third studio album, Midnight Memories (39). Midnight Memories was the biggest selling artist album of 2013 in the UK.
