Ariana Grande's Sweetener claims Official Irish Chart Number 1 for a second week

Plus new entries from Interpol, BTS, and Alice in Chains.

Ariana Grande has hit the sweet spot again, as her fourth studio album  Sweetener stays at the top of the Official Irish Albums Chart for a second week.

Sweetener, two of whose tracks are in this week's singles' Top 10, became Ariana's second Irish chart-topping album when it went straight in at the top last week.

Later today (August 31) Ariana is set to perform at the funeral of Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin in Detroit, USA.

New entries and climbers

Anne-Marie's debut Speak Your Mind edges back into the Top 10, rising one slot to 10, while American rock band Interpol score a fifth Irish Top 50 album, with Marauder going straight in at Number 14.

K-Pop boyband BTS score a third Irish Top 20 with the third in their Love Yourself album series, Answer (15), while vintage American rockers Alice In Chains go straight in at 20 with Rainier Fog.

George Ezra's debut Wanted on Voyage leaps eight places to Number 30 ahead of his Electric Picnic set this weekend, while Jess Glynne's I Cry When I Laugh is also on the up, rising seven to 33.

Also making gains on the Official Irish Albums Chart this week: Cardi B, up eight to 40 with Invasion of Privacy; Whitney Houston's Ultimate Collection rises eight to 41; Electric Picnic headliner Kendrick Lamar zooms 21 slots to land at 42; and Sam Smith's debut In The Lonely Hour is back in the Top 50, advancing six to 45.
